The Slipway is a beautiful canal side public house and restaurant, nestled in amongst the fields at the back of Burscough, Lancashire.
It started off in life in the early 1980s, when it was converted from 2 houses into the pub. It also has a big car park for over 50 cars, a boathouse, courtyard and large gardens. It has been owned for the large part by Thwaites brewery and had many different landlords throughout the years. The most notable being, Freddie ‘Parrot Face’ Davies, the well known comedian from the 1970’s and 1980’s.It struggled over the years with the ever changing landlords and was closed completely until October 2017, when the Holt Pub Co acquired it as a privately owned free house.
