There is a good selection of shops in the town centre, with a blend of the big brand retailers, alongside local independent shops, selling all kinds of products, from clothes to food, toys to technology. The main shopping area is the town centre itself, but there is also the Hattersley Centre just outside the town centre, which is home to a number of the large brands for shopping, as well as somewhere to get some food and drink.
There are a number of pubs and bars in the area, for those who enjoy a cold drink and watching the latest sporting matches with other sports fans.
The local market takes place in the town centre every Thursday and Saturday, and has been running since 1286, with hundreds of stalls for you to browse, and for you to discover a great selection of local and handmade produce.
