About your area

Visit Blackpool and see the many attractions, bars, shops, and restaurants the town has to offer. The town is famous for the Blackpool Tower, and its legendary Tower Ballroom, and the Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Additionally, Viva, the Grand Theatre, and Winter Gardens, all offer year-round entertainment including musicals, bands, pantos, shows, and other regular events. On the promenade's long sandy beaches, you will find its three piers, North, Central, and South Pier. Other major attractions include the  Sandcastle Waterpark, Sea Life, and Madame Tussauds.

Blackpool town centre has over 500 shops, pubs, places to eat, and recreation and leisure venues to visit. The shops here sell everything from clothes to electrical goods, toys to cosmetics, plus you're never far away from a fish and chip shop. Houndshill Shopping Centre is the main destination for shoppers, with over 65 major high street brands and a food hall which is open all week. Alternatively, visit the Bonny Street outdoor market during your visit and bag a bargain.

Sports fans can watch live football and rugby in the town's many local pubs or when playing at home can visit Blackpool Football Club, located on Bloomfield Road, which is a short walk from the town centre.

Blackpool has millions of visitors each year, making it the most visited seaside resort in the UK. Huge events people visit include the Big Switch On for the Blackpool illuminations in the autumn and the Blackpool Air Show in the summer.

Other nearby areas to Blackpool include the coastal towns of Fleetwood, Thornton-Cleveleys, and Lytham St. Annes, and the nearest city is Preston, which can be reached by train, from both Blackpool train stations which are situated in North and South shore. There is also plenty of taxis and public transport to help you get around Blackpool, with numerous buses, and trams running daily.
