Staining C of E Primary School
We are a Church of England Primary School serving the local community. We have 8 classes ranging from age 4 years to 11. We pride ourselves on our Christian ethos and on providing a happy, safe and enjoyable learning environment, where every child is nurtured and helped to develop to the best of their ability. We are firmly rooted in our village community and many parents and visitors comment on how much the school community feels like a family due to the friendly and approachable nature of the staff and children. We have a hard-working and motivated group of staff and supportive parents and governors who all play an active role in the school community.
The school benefits from large classrooms and playing spaces, including an outdoor classroom, a willow dome, outdoor stage, greenhouse and vegetable garden. We offer a wide variety of clubs to suit all ages and interests. Our Learning Mentor is here to support children and families who may need a little bit of extra help to overcome difficult situations both in and out of school. She provides parent and child workshops and is always happy to sit down for a cup of coffee and a chat! We have class links with the Staining and Normoss out of school club who walk the children to and from school at the beginning and end of the day.
The headteacher's door is always open and you can find her out at the front of school every morning - whatever the weather!
Staining CE Primary School is rooted in the community it serves, working in partnership with the Church and the Local Education Authority. We are an inclusive school and are constantly striving to achieve the following:
an atmosphere where all children feel valued and respected
to develop a stable, caring environment in which each child can develop to his/her potential academically, physically and spiritually
that all children in our care will acquire knowledge and skills relevant to life in a rapidly changing world and come to appreciate the world around them in all its diversity
that our children will develop lively and enquiring minds, so they have the ability to question and argue rationally and that they willingly apply themselves to all aspects of learning
that they will acquire a reasoned set of attitudes and beliefs
that they will come to recognise their own and each others' strengths and weaknesses and do what they can to help others and themselves
that they will achieve success and take pride in their achievements
