Dave and Sam took over The Castle in December 2009, after the pub had been closed for over 11 months.
Sam is the Designated Premises Supervisor.
Our aim was to relaunch the pub as it was over 10 years ago, when it was ‘the meeting place’ for people to get together before enjoying a night out.
You can expect a very welcoming atmosphere, in a warm and clean pub with no gimmicks! We have deliberately not introduced a pool table or darts, so as to keep the atmosphere relaxed. There is no entertainment such as live bands and DJ’s, so you can enjoy each others company and have a laugh before hitting the town!
If you don’t fancy painting the town red, you could go out for a meal and enjoy the rest of the evening with us.
We have a great jukebox that has a massive selection of music, in fact you can type in your date of birth and it will show you the Top 40 on the date that you were born!
You will find that people of all ages come to our pub, from students through to the well retired! We do, however, have a strict code of practice when it comes to under age.
We welcome children but only whilst dining. So you can leave the kids behind and enjoy the company down at The Castle!
We are members of PubWatch.
We show all live televised sports, and are able to show numerous events all at the same time. We are able to use a four zone speaker system to create the best atmosphere possible, in any area of the pub.
We have the full Sky package including ESPN and Sky HD.
In March 2010 we introduced food to the Pub. By using local produce, we can provide good quality food at reasonable prices. Doing this has meant that we have established a good reputation of which we are incredibly proud.
