About Clitheroe

Visit Clitheroe and discover the range of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and more, that this beautiful town has to offer. The town is known for Clitheroe Castle, which is now home to a museum and attractions, which is said to be the smallest Norma castle in the whole of England.​

There are a variety of shops in Clitheroe, including popular brands as well as a mix of great independent stores. In fact, the town is well-known for its variety of specialist shops, and with the town centre being the main shopping area, there's plenty of businesses to discover.​

Clitheroe FC is the local football club, which play their home matches at Shawbridge, which is a short distance from the town centre. If football isn't your thing, then you might enjoy Clitheroe Golf Club, which is described as one of the country's best inland courses. There are also a good number of pubs and bars in the area, which show the big sporting events from around the world, where you can relax with a cold drink, and other sports fans.​

In the town centre, Clitheroe Market takes place select days each week, selling fresh produce and local products, so it's a great place to discover something new. The Clitheroe Food Festival is also an annual event in the town, taking place every August, with local food and drink producers sharing their products with locals and visitors.​

The local train station provides easy access to Rochdale, and the town itself is situated close to Blackburn, Barnoldsich, Nelson, and Accrington, the nearest city being Preston.​
