Superb dining in a traditional English pub on the edge of the Lakes. The Strickland Arms sits in a fine location on the edge of the Lake District, overlooking the entrance to historic Sizergh Castle, near Kendal. The building itself has all the best of the traditional features of the area.
We have built quite a reputation for our food - often remarked upon as 'costing less than expected for such splendid dining' - we present a menu with something for everyone, clearly using much local produce and being individually prepared to order. Our helpful and friendly staff deliver an atmosphere which is homely and welcoming to visitors and locals alike. Dogs and children are very welcome.
The Strickland Arms has been recommended in the Michelin Pub Guide and the Good Pub Guide.
In addition, we have also been recommended in the Good Beer Guide. Located in a quite, rural location just south of the market town of Kendal, we are easily reached from all directions. This convenient setting is just perfect for relaxing after a day on the fells or sailing on the lakes. A leisurely lunch can also be taken at The Strickland Arms. Or feel free to just call in and enjoy a drink by the roaring fire.
