Visit Burnley and find a great selection of shops, both brands and independents, as well as restaurants, cafes, entertainment, and more. Burnley has held a market in the town for more than 700 years, and during the industrial revolution, it became one of Lancashire's most prominent mill towns. At its peak, it was one of the world's largest producers of cotton cloth, and evidence of this history can be found in local museums and the classic architecture of the town.
In the town centre, there's a wide range of shops, selling a variety of food, clothing, household goods and more. The main shopping centre in the area is Charter Walk Shopping Centre, which contains a large number of brands, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area to refresh yourself and take a breather.
The local football team is Burnley FC, which is located at Turf Moor and is only a short journey from the town centre. There are also numerous pubs and bars, to be able to watch the games alongside a refreshing drink and fellow fans.
Burnley Live is a local two-day music festival, held on an annual basis in Autumn, featuring a huge selection of music, food and fun. The local Burnley Market is also a permanent fixture in the town, open all year, and offering fresh food, clothing, knick knacks, and much more.
Burnley has two train stations, connecting the town to nearby Preston and Leeds, and the town is also closeby to Accrington, Blackburn and Colne, which can be reached by the many buses which pass through the town centre.
