Poundland to undergo transformation –

It has been announced that Poundland is to undergo a new transformation programme that will feature changes to stores, pricing and the overall breadth of its offerings.
The changes will also include an e-commerce pilot and it is hoped that these changes will help lead the recovery of the UK’s town centres and high streets as the country begins to come out of the coronavirus lockdown.
The highlight of Poundland’s scheme, internally dubbed Project Diamond, is the piloting of an online delivery service early next year, utilising one of its three stores in the Cannock area which is soon to close to allow work on its conversion to an online fulfilment centre to commence.
“We’re stepping up to support high streets after the impact of the coronavirus by being customer-focused, people-led and tech-enabled,” Poundland Managing Director Barry Williams said. “This is the biggest transformation in our history as we look to secure our future for another thirty years.”
